Common faults and solutions

 

Fault 1: Unable to Detect at Low Concentrations

Solutions:

  1. Confirm whether the target gas is present at the site.
  2. Perform zero-point calibration by using nitrogen gas or clean air. Test immediately after calibration.
  3. If the issue persists after zero-point calibration, restore the factory settings.
  4. Repeat the calibration process with nitrogen or clean air if detection still fails after restoring factory settings.
  5. If the above steps do not resolve the issue, contact the manufacturer's after-sales support.
 

Fault 2: Fluctuating or Randomly Jumping Values in the Air Without the Target Gas

Solutions:

  1. Check for temperature and humidity fluctuations at the site, as these can cause temporary instability in readings. Once stabilized, the values should return to normal.
  2. Verify whether zero-point or target-point calibration was performed in the presence of target gas. Factory reset can resolve issues caused by incorrect calibration values.
  3. If high-concentration gas has impacted the sensor, power on the instrument and allow it to age for 24 hours. If values remain unstable, the sensor may be damaged and require replacement.
 

Fault 3: Inaccurate Detection

Solutions:

  1. Confirm the actual concentration of the target gas on site. To ensure accuracy, use standard gas for verification or send the instrument to a third-party testing agency.
  2. Check the sensor's condition. Long-term use may cause errors in readings. If the sensor is nearing the end of its service life, replacing it is recommended for optimal performance.
 

Fault 4: Alarms Triggered When the Value is Zero or Below the Alarm Threshold

Solutions:

  1. Verify whether the alarm threshold has been modified.
  2. Check the alarm settings, including the mode and type of alarm.
  3. Identify whether the alarm is a concentration alarm or a fault alarm:
    • Concentration Alarm: Displays "AL" or "AH" and flashes a red indicator.
    • Fault Alarm: Activates a yellow light.
  4. If the alarm is caused by incorrect settings, restore the factory settings. For fault alarms, inspect for issues such as short circuits, open circuits, poor contact, or sensor failure. If unresolved, send the device to the manufacturer for inspection.
 

Fault 5: Unable to Communicate with the Computer

Solutions:

  1. Ensure the device address matches the address set in the communication software.
  2. Check the serial port in the computer's Hardware-Device Manager-Port section. For USB interfaces, confirm the correct port number and default baud rate (9600).
 

Fault 6: No Data Records Found in Query

Solutions:

  1. Verify that the storage function is turned on (refer to Chapter 7 of the user manual for storage settings).
  2. If the storage function is enabled but no records appear, ensure data recording was initiated. Perform the following steps:
    • Navigate to Data Recording > Data Deletion to reset data recording. Wait 15 minutes and check again.
  3. Confirm that the start and end times for the query match the measurement period. Ensure the instrument's internal clock is accurate and properly synchronized.
  4. If the system time is incorrect, the mainboard may need repair. Return the instrument to the factory for servicing.
